I dropped my iPhone in a toilet?

On NYE I dropped my iphone in a toilet. It was in there for less than 5 seconds but i didn't get the chance to put it in rice until the following day.
A couple of hours after, the flash turned on and would not turn off. The word 'temperature' kept coming up on my screen and I could faintly see text messages coming through.
I tried to turn my phone off but I could not slide the red button across for it to turn off. It eventually turned off by itself.
It has now been in rice for 24 hours and it doesn't turn on.

Time for a new phone.

Does the phone have insurance? If it doesn't then you have to get a new phone sadly. If you do then go to the company and tell them

Hope for the best and attempt the charge the phone as that may save the battery. If the phone will still not turn on, you may be able to get it repaired from someone who will repair it (look for services that will do iPhone battery replacement, as they will most likely know how to fix it). Apple does not cover against water damage. Hope your phone works again!

Time to get a new one. If you turned it on while it's still wet, it's screwed. In all honesty, it's rare for a phone to work after it gets soaked in water.
