I dropped my iphone in water - 2
I accidentally dropped my phone in water for less than 3 seconds, and immediately went to the kitchen, to place the phone in rice. However, I forgot to turn off my phone, and while I was studying, i heard my phone sizzling. And now, my phone has no audio.
It is turned off now, and still in a bowl of rice.
What is the chance that my iphone still works? Is my audio damaged permanently?
Also, if it is damaged, what are my opens? I think my warranty expired, but i was just wondering, if repairing it is enough, or would i need to buy a new phone?
I'm sure but I would recommend emailing and setting up an appointment at the apple store because, generally, they can help and tell you what to do.
Well it looks like its dead. Your only option is to pour some soy sauce in the rice bowl and eat it.
That sizzling noise i do not know about.since it is an apple product you most likely won't get full recovery of everything damaged by the water for a good month. The noise may be it vibrating or making sound while water was still in it.buying a new one if damages are too severe, which they shouldn't be, then i would buy a nokia lumia 920, or a blackberry, or any other non-apple product.

Immediately switched it off, dried it and put it in a bag of rice. This was at about 6 p.m yesterday. This morning without turning it on I opened up the sim compartment to check the circle for water damage (checked online and apparently this is where to check for water damage). The indicator was white. It is back in the rice but I was wondering - when you think it will be ok to turn back on?
- I dropped my iPhone in water - 3 I just dropped my phone in water about a minute ago(it's 9:25 PST). I hurried up and got it out dried it off as fast as I could. It was working fine until now. It keeps popping up "charging not supported on this device" and also I just found out the sound isn't working! Now I can't even listen to all the money I spent on my songs. Is there anything to help this? I was thinking I can back it up on iTunes? Would that help? I don't know I just need major help please.
