I got my iPhone 4 wet! What should I do? - 1

After it happened, I noticed that the flash bulb remained on while the rest of the phone showed no signs of life. I dried it off and stuck it in a bag of rice, where it had been for the past 30 hours or so. I tried to charge it again about 45 minutes ago, and the only thing that happened was the flash bulb lit up again. I put it immediately back in the rice. Are there any hopes of reviving my phone? Has anyone had a similar experience?

Omg this was me about 3 weeks ago. I dropped my iphone 4 in the toilet took it out and it worked then 5 mins later it shut off.about 10 mins after that the flash came on and stayed on for what seemed like forever. The phone got hot. I didn't know that i was supposed to put it in rice directly afterwards so i took it to a few places to see if they could help. After about 5 hours i finally put it in rice. It hasn't worked since. I guess it all depends on how severe the water damage was. I would say leave it in rice and don't bother it at all for about 3 days and try again if not its gone… I have the 4s now and i've learned my lesson

My mom dropped hers in the toilet and stuck it in rice for three days (after taking it completely apart) and then used a hair dryer on cold after It was in the tea bag tea for five hours and then she used a paper towel to dry the rest

You may be hosed, you can try letting it dry 4-5 days. If your contract is up you can get a new iphone 4 free with a 2 year contract, otherwise try to get a used one off craigslist, ebay, etc.

You can recycle your old phone on apple's site and they will give you store credit for it, so will get something back for it. Even if damaged something is better then nothing.

Iphone different from others because not end user friendly.since we can't open it.better bring it to the service centre before switch on.otherwise it may get worst.

  • IPhone got wet and home screen button/voice control not working? I was actually using hand sanitizer and it got into the charging opening of the iPhone. I thought I dried it out but now the home button does not work and every other time, the voice control randomly pops up. I tried putting the iPhone in rice to remove the moisture but only for a few hours (two hours at least). Should I try for 24 hours? Any other suggestions? Will apple store help repair this issue without erasing my pictures, videos or texts from my phone?
