IIm 13 and I need to make roughly 1000 dollars?

Hi. My dad gave me his old phone when he upgraded to a new one. In about April it shut off and no longer works. Since then, I have been using a barely functional phone which gives me a hard time a lot. It was my old phone from the fourth grade because I needed one due to after school stuff. I have asked for a new phone but my parents have bluntly refused, saying that they will not buy something if I do not need it (since my phone is in working condition, even though it sucks). I have set my sights on the gorgeous iPhone 6, which I know is a long shot. I know I can get and older model for cheaper but… If I work I might as well go all the way. That s my type of mindset I guess lol. Anyway the problem is what the work should be. I honestly have no idea what I should do to earn the 800 dollars, not including tax or a good protective case which cost roughly fifty dollars since this is obviously an expensive phone. I'm open to any ideas.

Sorry but there aren't many money making opportunities for someone under 16.

A 13 year old probably more apt to lose things than an adult can't easily justify having the most expensive phone on the market, realistically you don't need it, I have to believe it's wanting the biggest and best toy syndrome.

At the other extreme of the spectrum, you can guy a tracFone at a local store for almost nothing and spend just $6.67 a month to maintain the account just for emergency calls.

At your age, yard work, snow shoveling, house work, and babysitting is what you need to focus on. Put up flyers and talk to all of your neighbors to be sure they know you are willing to do the chores they need done.

Your parents have said no because you don't need a phone--you may not LIKE your phone, but if it works, it's not going to be replaced. What you WANT and what you can GET are going to be two different things here. You want a $1000--but you're only 13. There isn't much a 13 year old can do in the way of employment that you don't already know about: mowing lawns, helping neighbors clean out garages or sheds, babysitting (if you're responsible enough for that.) There isn't a company or business who will hire a 13-year old to do paid employment, and it wouldn't be legal for them to do so. You're going to have to use your imagination here--since we don't know where you live, what your neighborhood is like or what resources you have to get from one place to another, or who you know that might help you earn some extra money--but no matter what, it will probably take a long time to get that much money anyway, even if you found little jobs to do. And by the time you get your money together, there will be an iPhone 7; and it will probably cost more. Be realistic here--at your age you are going to have a very hard time unless you luck into something. I'm not trying to discourage you from earning money, but I'm saying you have to think of this in REAL terms--not END terms. You may WANT an iPhone 6, but getting one is not really going to be something you will be able to do right now.
