I think my iPhone got a virus?
So I was in Chrome on my iPhone, then there was this weird pop-up saying something about me winning a prize because I was the 1000th visitor. So I closed the tab then I got the same pop-up again when I didn't click on anything and the site opened up again. I deleted Chrome, but I'm scared that I got some sort of virus…
Never say never but I seriously doubt it. First of all IOS is an really secure and locked down mobile platform. One aspect of that security is what is known as sand-boxing. Your browser, Chrome, was not running with root privileges on your device. Instead it was running a sandbox, so even if it somehow got infected by those annoying adverts the infection would be trapped in that sandbox and would not affect other applications or the OS itself.
Be more careful and educate yourself on good security habits.

- If an iPhone somehow got a virus, what would stop that virus from spreading to the recovery image? If an iPhone got a virus, couldn't it just spread to the recovery image? I don't mean where you connect the iPhone to your computer and restore through iTunes. I mean the restore image that is actually on the iPhone.
- I think I accidentally downloaded a virus on my iPhone, what should I do now? I received an email that claimed to be from DHL, and it had an attachment which I opened (not yet realizing it was a scam/virus). The attachment seemed to be blank, and when I searched "DHL scam emails", sure enough there are emails being sent that claim to be from DHL. My question is, how do I uninstall whatever I opened? (This is on an iPhone 5 with iOS 7). Is there anything else I should do?
- I have a iPhone and my safari froze when a pop up asked me to call this number to get rid of a virus so I don't know if I have a virus or no? So today I was looking for music online and this pop up came up and froze my browser and it asked me to call this number but I didn't and hit cancel and cleared my history and I restarted my phone cause it acted slow so I don't know if I have a virus or not
