If I'm on my home Wi-Fi, and my 3G is on, will it cost money?

I just got a new iphone and I'm connected to my home Wi-Fi, and my 3G is on, my phones telling me I've used data. Is this costing me money?

It's possible just make sure when your using Wi-Fi you have it set to use Wi-Fi over 3G if it's an iPhone then it does this automatically

When your at home goto settings and turn your mobile data off and turn Wi-Fi on.

Wi-Fi signal drops alot so when it does you won't be noticing as it automatically connects back into your 3G. If you turn package data off until you leave the house (or wherever you are using Wi-Fi) then it won't connect until you want it to.

If you lose connection to your Wi-Fi network and your phone has data turned on, then it will use data. If you want to be absolutely sure that you're not being charged, make sure you turn off 3G data when you are using Wi-Fi.

  • Why do some iPhones cost $200 and some cost $900? Is there like data forever or something on these jacked up price or are you literally buying a $900 iPhone when you can only use it for Wi-Fi? And why does it cost so much less when you get it with a service plan like AT&T?

  • How to use iPhone camera at home for money? This might go against rules IIm not sure, here s the deal. I need extra cash and was curious since I don't have a desktop computer if I could use my iPhone to choke one out and make some money (I'm male) if that makes a difference and if I can do that then would anyone know where I can sign up for that. Yes this is a serious question IIm out of work and need a little something to hold me over till the next job
