IMessage won't work for iPhone 5?

My iMessage will not work on my iPhone 5. I've tried just about everything to fix it but nothing has worked. I tried resetting the phone settings, network settings, and turning iMessage on and off. The only other thing I can think of is to restore my phone but I don't want to loose my contacts, music, apps, and photos!

Save your contacts, music, and photos to your laptop/desktop. Just make a folder, and click and drag them all from your iTunes, and iPhone folders. Your Apple ID will automatically save every app you've ever got (free or paid), so you can just re-download them after, when you log back into your Apple ID. So my best guess would be to do this, and restore it. Best of luck to you!

I'm having the same problem as you. If I were you, I wouldn't do anything with it. I think Apple is down and probably going to fix it

  • Why won't my iMessage work on my iPhone? I was wondering why my iMessage service does not work on my 3GS phone. The iMessage tab is switched to on. The recipient and I are both within Wi-Fi connectivity. The send button even turns blue. When I try and send MSG it says not delivered. When I gO to settings and turn imsg tab off then bk on, it says waiting for activation… How do I activate for starters?! I have put my password and used ID in too but still to no avail! What do I do?
  • Why won't my iMessage notification work on my iphone 4? So i got a free iphone 4 from my work and it is all up to date. IOS 7, the newest version. Whenever I text to someone, the iphone won't notify me if someone texted, even though i went to setting and turned on everything. The notification works for snapchat and a couple of other apps… Here is what i did setting>notification center>Messages> alert style: Banner> everything else is switched on…> Show alerts from everyone
  • Why won't FaceTime/iMessage work? So I have an iPhone 4 and my Facetime and iMessage isn't working! I try to sign in and it says it couldn't sign in. I also just got the latest update- IOS 6 I think? Can you please help me!

Now whenever I try to activate/sign into iMessage or FaceTime, after about 15-20 seconds, and error pops up saying,"Activation Failed/Unsuccessful". My uncle has the same problem on his iPhone 4(jailbroken on iOS 5.0.1).Is there a way to fix this? I don't like always using my iPod Touch to iMessage.
