Iphone 3gs 'you are not subscribed to a mobile data service'?

I just got my dads old iphone 3gs unlocked from o2 i'm now on virgin but when i turn my Wi-Fi and go on to 3g i open the internet and it comes up with 'you are not subscribed to a mobile data service' my 3g is on and so is mobile data and ariplane mode is not on. I in the top lest corner i have full signal and it says 3g, does anyone know the problem and how to fix this!

Added (1). This sim i'm using now is a virgin one i've been using it in a blackberry, i'm on contract with the sim where i have internet, message and call times why isn't it letting me use it on this phone?

Pay for data service, Genius!

And did you buy any data from Virgin?
and have they sent the Virgin data settings to the phone?

Call up Virgin help line and have them send the settings and take out a data subscription (as well as the calls and mins)

Turn off the 3G, and the Wi-Fi should work fine on its own.

I'm not sure if anyone would be able to answer this question, but after the Music app changed on iPhone and stuff, I used to always use Beats Music as a trial and had my own account and playlist, but I wasn't a subscriber. I'm going to pay for Apple Music but I really want my Beats Music playlist to be also be saved? Can anyone tell me if it still will let you?
