IPhone 4 - free browsing on home network?
I just got an iPhone 4 as a late Christmas present (I know there's a 4S and a 5, but I got the 4) and I'm with O2 on 'Pay as you Go'. I understand this means I have to pay to surf the net when I'm not connected to a wireless network, but what if I'm at home, connected to my home network and I want to use the web? Is it still free for me to use like all the other devices connected to my router? Or will I still be charged by O2 for using it?
It's free to use the Wi-Fi at home or anywhere for that matter! It's the same thing as using your laptop at Starbucks- always free.
It is still free.
I'm guessing that they won't charge you for your using the internet when you are on your homes network, or Wi-Fi. I have AT&T and they do not charge data when its connected to Wi-Fi
Its free and not using your data from the network.
Yes it is free when connected to a Wi-Fi network, but I do advise you to
Try out the network "giffgaff" it uses O2s signals but is a lot cheaper for Internet and texts, for example; I have 100 mins unlimited texts and unlimited Internet for 10 pound a month.
It's free if your connected to a Wi-Fi Network, shouldn't cost you a penny no matter how long you use your home wireless network, O2 will only charge you if you use their network to browse the net, as you are using your home wireless network it doesn't have nothing to do with O2.
Hope this information helps and confirms your query.
- Wi-Fi on iPhone keeps saying unable to join network (my network name)? How can I fix this! It's been like this for a week but it works on my laptop fine. I tried unplugging it for a few seconds, I tried resetting network settings, I tried turning my phone off then on again, and I know I'm typing it right. I even typed it in upper case AND lower case. Does anyone know how I can fix this?
- Why won't my iPhone connect to my home network? It's connected before today but my mom had people come in and fix it because when she would connect to it, the router messes up and no one was able to use the internet. Now I can use my desktop at the same time she uses her wireless connected laptop. But my iPhone won't join the network and neither will my other laptop.
- Why can't my iPhone 5 locate my home Wi-Fi network? My iPhone has been automatically connecting to my home Wi-Fi network for months, but a couple days ago it stopped and my home Wi-Fi network does not even appear in available networks any longer. Four networks appear and they are all nearby neighbors. Yes, my home Wi-Fi is up and working fine and I'm sitting right next to it. Any ideas? I have already tried turning off and back on again.
- What's the difference between off-network and on-network? I'm try to work out which is best for what I want out of the service. I want protection while on my iPhone 5 (both when connected via Wi-Fi and when roaming on 3/4G). Website with product details: http://www.umbrella.com/products/umbrella-security-features/
