IPhone 4 losing battery rapidly?

This started after the last update. I don't have any apps running and once it's off the charger, it starts losing battery life quickly. If I'm using the phone, I could be losing about 3% a minute. I didn't even use my phone yesterday, just had it off the charger and it died within a couple hours.

Added (1). I use my bluetooth though. Also, my brightness is less than half. I really want to reiterate though, the phone worked perfectly before. Rarely would I ever go below 70% in a day and a single charge lasted days. This new software update has not only destroyed my battery life, but the phone started to run slower as a direct result. Part of me really believes Apple released a software that was not as compatible or exploited bugs just to make people go out and buy the newer model.

Added (2). So basically, you guys have no clue. Any service I go to will likely cost more than the price of the phone.

Make sure your Bluetooth is off

Turn down the brightness on your screen. Also make sure bluetooth is off. This has happened to alot of people with the 4, that's why they made the 4S

You may want to take it to an authorized service center, they should be able to fix your problem. Hope this helps you.

  • Why is my iPhone 5 losing battery? My iPhone is a few months old, it has been working great until a week ago the batter stopped holding. I left it in the car for a few hours and it lost 10 percent. My phone just died at 4 percent battery not one, then when I started charging it it started at 4. Just a minute or two later it went to 13 percent, and it keeps radically increasing. Is there anything I can do?
  • Why is my iPhone 5 losing battery so fast? I got it about a month ago, and the battery's been fine until yesterday. It just started losing battery really fast. This morning, when I put it in my backpack before school, it was at 50%. When I took it out at the end of the day, it was at 36% and I didn't even touch it during the day!
  • My iPhone started losing battery quickly. What should I do? A few days ago, my Iphone 4s started losing battery very quickly. Last night it was at 83%, all applications were closed and then this morning it had lost all power and turned off. I already made the 20 changes in Settings that are supposed to use less battery and this is still happening. I think this is an issue with the phone. What should I do?
