Iphone 4S charging port fried?

I'm very confident in working on electronics and replacing things. But I like get a second opinion before I go off and dismantle my phone. I had a short in my USB charger it smoked on me and now my phone will not charge but the phone works etc. Tired many other chargers and usbs but it not working still. I feel like it was the charging port that got fried.

Why pay $50 for someone to fix it while I can do it my self for about $10

I got the phone from at&t they will not cover the repair guess had it to long.

  • Why port forwarding on port 80? I have a foscam home security camera and it needs port forwarding on port 80 if I want to use my iphone to view it from outside. Surely enough, it works as soon as I open that port. But isn't port 80 open by default? Else how could I view http websites in the first place. I don't get it. It's already open so why open it again?
  • What is different of the new iPhone 5 charging port? Since the iPhone 5 has a new charging port that is smaller than the original, is the charging port the same as the Andriod charging port? Or is it completely different? I have an Andriod phone and I was wondering if I was able to get the iPhone 5, will I be able to use my Andriod chargers for the iPhone 5? What is different about the iPhone 5 charging port?
  • My iphone4s is fried help! Does apple know its jailbroken? My iphone 4s was plugged into an ihome and a fewminutes later it overheated i took it out and waited for it to cool down and it did but it still would not turn on. So i think it is fried so i'm going to apple to use my warranty but my phone is jailbroken, would apple know its jailbroken since its fried? If they do know how? And how could i wipe my phone when its fried?
