IPhone 4S not connecting to Wi-Fi? - 1

IPHONE 4S. TRIED So HARD TO CONNECT IT TO THE HOME Wi-Fi BUT IT WON'T WORK. IT'S BEEN AT IT FOR 3 DAYS. IT'S ONLY MY PHONE THAT DOESN'T CONNECT EVERYONE ELSE'S IS FINE. IT EITHER 1: the button grays out and won't even let me turn it on, 2: the Wi-Fi won't show up on the screen as an option to connect, 3: shows uo, let's me connect and then if I go to use the Internet it cuts out and it won't show on the screen. Someone please help? It is very frustrating and I don't understand. Is my phone broken? Please give me an explanation I'm very stressed.

Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

I don't keep up with downloading software and things, but I decided today would be a good day to get some new music and maybe get iOS 6.0.1.
