IPhone 5 recovery mode

So today I was browsing through facebook on my iphone 5, (keep in mind this phone isn't even a month old) and all of a sudden, facebook freezes, so I click the home button, and try accessing it from the home page, and the home page is frozen too. Nothing slides! So I wait about 10 minutes, and still nothing… I try the power button now. And still NOTHING!

I try holding it even longer, still nothing. So I'm left with nothing else to do except put it into recovery mode (holding the power and center button). Now. When I try to plug in my phone into my computer, itunes prompts me that my phone is in recovery mode and needs to be restored in order for me to use itunes with my phone (i don't know why i would need itunes. I just want my damn phone working otherwise i miss work calls.), and after about a 5 minute wait I get this message

The phone "iphone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (14).

So I restarted my computer, and did the exact same steps. I get the SAME DAMN MESSAGE!

I just cancelled my contract with telus and switched over to bell for an Iphone 5… And this wasn't even 1 month ago… I'm really pissed off… Can anyone please help me get my phone working again?

Try changing USB ports
Or some 3rd party software might be conflicting with the iPod…

  • Iphone will not restore from recovery mode? I tried to restore my iphone via itunes but is now stuck in recovery mode. I press 'Restore' on itunes and it downloads the software (takes about half an hour!) and then nothing happens. There's no error message or anything. I've tried this several times now. I've uninstalled and reinstalled itunes and I've tried turning off my firewall. Nothing has worked so far and my phone is out of action. Any ideas?

  • IPhone has detected an iPhone in recovery mode, Will I lose pictures? It say I must restore the iPhone before it can be used with iTunes. The screen on phone only has a plug into iTunes logo on it. I need to make sure my pics are backed up but Can't get into phone to check. Is there a way to stop mandatory restore?
  • Iphone 5c stuck in recovery mode and Itunes won't recognize the phone, or that its in recovery mode? I tried updating to IOS 8 and it has the connect to itunes screen. Well i plugged it into my computer and opened itunes and got no notifications or anything. I really don't know what to do. I've seen online something about DFU mode… But i don't know what that is, is it jailbreaking? Will it erase my phone? Also. My phone is not backed up so help please.
