My iPhone 5s camera won the focus?
My camera has been messing up lately. It's been fine all day but now it won't focus when I try to take a picture. I already held the off and home button together a few times. Iv tried everything, what do I do?
You will not like this answer. You need a REAL camera, not a PHONE. Sorry, but a cell phone is the most poor excuse for a camera in existence, (except for maybe a webcam, which is even worse). The photo "feature" of the phone, (it does not matter which phone), is just an added bonus, it is not designed as a proper camera from the ground up. If you could isolate only the camera function of the phone and sell it separately, it would be hanging on a rack at Walmart and selling for about $19.95.
Even a relatively inexpensive point and shoot camera is a better device for photography than a phone.
Let Apple take a look at it.
What remains then is a very annoying factory reset via iTunes connected by a cable. You'll have to back everything up, all the data, music, accounts, photos, apps etc; then your phone is like a new phone. BUT it still won't work if it is a component failure, and then they will be asking you to upgrade to this year's model.
Turn the phone off and on again. If that doesn't fix it, then you can buy a replacement camera module off of ebay for about $5. Yup, your $500 phone has a $5 camera in it.
Watching a 20 minute youtube video will show you how to replace the module. It's very simple to do.
Take it to the Apple store and see what they say. Many times they'll fix stuff like that for free.
"Fine all day" - but is it night now? Many cameras do not work well in dark conditions.
