Added (1). I preordered the iPhone 6 on friday. It said contract free with t-mobile. I've a doubt concerning if that also means is unlocked or not. I'm not planning on using it on USA, I bought it and will receive it in Miami while I'm on vacations but is for use in Colombia.
No. The unlocked models will come eventually to the US, usually mid to late November. The contract free ones are not unlocked, though they can be if you pay to do so.
There are reports that it can be unlocked, but only after 45 days on T-Mobile.
There are unlocked iPhones available for preorder but only from other countries like Canada as an example.
Beware, it may be locked to a prepaid or pay as you go type scheme.
If it doesn't say "unlocked" then it is certainly "not" unlocked.
