IPhone can't connect to youtube error fix?

Your first mistake is buying an iPhone. There are a lot better phones on the market that would do everything, plus more, as the iPhone can do. If you switch to something on the Android network, it'd run a lot smoother.
Upgrade the software. The YouTube and maps apps built in don't work. Upgrade to iOS6.
