Iphone dropped in water? - 1

Okay so I dropped my Iphone 4s in water for like 4 seconds. I dried it off and it was fine but then the left side of the screen stopped working. So that stopped and I put it in rice. Then I had it on and it was being fine but then it randomly turned the screen off to the lock screen and back on. So we figured it was something with the charger so I put it on the charger for like a minute and the screen randomly locking stopped. But now the off/on button won't work. Like the one on the top:/ So I have it in rice till tomorrow, do you think the button will start working? If not, what should I do?

Added (1). Thanks guys but I want to know about the noise and the button, do you think that can be fixed by the rice?

I dropped my phone in a pool when I was on vacation and when we came home a week later and put it in a bag of rice it worked so imagine that the rice should work.

You should be careful o_O
some weeks ago I saw a news and they said a lady's iPhone was on fire because she also dropped her phone in a pool… They said something about the battery going wrong: I
I think it would be better if you get someone to check it…

Just keep hoping it starts working

Since it's an iphone you can't take it apart to my knowledge. A very nice area with airflow and possibly some air that is maybe 80 degrees. Not a heater necessarily because that is bad but something that will help move the moisture out of the device. Rice works due to it being able to absorb moisture. Salt would be bad to use because the crystals might make it into the device somehow, someway. I second the rice solution but say to pack it as nicely as you can without putting too much pressure on the screen itself.

  • I dropped my Iphone in water - no water damage showing on indicator? Here is the situation. I dropped my Iphone 5 in the toilet (I hadn't peed yet so all good there). Immediately switched it off, dried it and put it in a bag of rice. This was at about 6 p.m yesterday. This morning without turning it on I opened up the sim compartment to check the circle for water damage (checked online and apparently this is where to check for water damage). The indicator was white. It is back in the rice but I was wondering - when you think it will be ok to turn back on?
  • I dropped my iPhone in water - 3 I just dropped my phone in water about a minute ago(it's 9:25 PST). I hurried up and got it out dried it off as fast as I could. It was working fine until now. It keeps popping up "charging not supported on this device" and also I just found out the sound isn't working! Now I can't even listen to all the money I spent on my songs. Is there anything to help this? I was thinking I can back it up on iTunes? Would that help? I don't know I just need major help please.
  • I dropped my iphone in water and it won't turn on? I dropped my iphone in the toilet about 3 hours ago and right after i picked it up from the water, i put it in rice. The phone turned off by itself and about a few minutes ago i went to check and my phone was hot. So i'm wondering if i should keep it in the rice or do something else?
  • I dropped my iphone in water a few months ago? I dropped my iphone in the toilet a few months ago i let it sit in rice for like a day maybe more. But i need it fixed. Is there anyway i can?
