IPhone no sound or vibration. IOS bug or not?

So one minute my iPhone 6 is working great, next minute I get a text but it never went off. I checked all my settings, flicked my mute switch on and off and it didn't vibrate. Tried playing Pandora or a video, nothing. Now I downloaded iOS 9 a few days ago and see some people complaining of bugs online with sound. But this seems like a pretty big bug if it is. I tried resetting my phone and everything nothing worked. If I plug my headphones in the sound is distorted but works a little bit. I'm on a college campus with no access to an Apple Store til December. Any ideas or even if you could tell me if you think it's my phone or an iOS bug that will be fixed? (And when?) it's very frustrating missing calls and texts. Thanks for any insight, like it said this all just happened in matter of minutes (phone was not near water and didn't fall).

I'm having the same problem. Ever since "upgrading" to the terrible ios 9 I've been having constant issues with notifications. I'd say 5/10 times there will be no sound or vibration and if I don't physically look at my phone I would never know I got it. No longer can I fall asleep and depend on my phone to wake me up if I get a message, and nothing is going to fix it. It's an ios 9 bug and only an update to it will change it. You're stuck with a broken phone until Apple decides to actually focus on the phone being able to function as a phone and not on just shoving as much new features and apps no one will ever actually use in our faces.
Nothing to do but wait for an update and hope they fix it.
