Iphone receiving imessage from andriod phone?

My friend has a samsung s3, and i have an iphone 4. When we were texting I realized that it was sending as imessage, and she was receiving it as imessage as well. Is this normal? Do I have to be concerned with having a higher bill or anything of that sort?

I don't think it will make you're bill higher, but it is weird that it is sending as an iMessage.

  • Why isn't my iPhone 5 not receiving or sending texts to andriod phones? I just recently got an iPhone 5 (regular. Not 5s or 5c). I haven't updated to iOS7 yet but ever since I've gotten this phone it hasn't received or sent text messages to an android phone. I haven't tried calling yet so I'm not sure about that yet.
  • Why am I not receiving text messages because of iMessage? When I have my iMessage on, I'm not receiving texts from my iPhone using friends who have their iMessage OFF. But if I turn my iMessage off, then I don't receive texts from my friends that have their iMessage ON. Is there a way to fix this? Is there a way I can receive texts from everyone while my iMessage is on, regardless if their iMessage is on or off?
  • What's the difference between an iphone and the andriod version of iphone? They look identical except with the major difference in price - what are the advantages and disadvantages of the android version? Are they similar in ways? Which would be better?
  • Should I buy another iphone or a andriod phone? My AT&T contract is almost over. (July 23rd) so anyways I has the iPhone 4S and I was wondering if I should get the 5 or a andriod phone. Because the 5s I heard is suppose to be out in September and I can't wait that long. So which phone should I get?
