Is it possible att will give me an early upgrade?

I purchased an iPhone 6 9/2014. I didn't get it using the Next program that they offer(IIm in a 2yr contract). Right now I want an iPhone 6s Plus and IIm not eligible for an upgrade until 4/22/2016. Has anyone had any luck with asking for an early upgrade? (I will be using att next now)

You can upgrade whenever you want, but there are payments for doing so. To switch over to AT&T Next would almost be the equivalent of terminating your existing contract and signing up for AT&T Next, and that would basically mean paying the ETF and whatever else AT&T does for that kind of thing.

Ask them, their answer is the only one which matters.

But a phone contract is really a loan agreement with an added allowance on top for calls, texts and data. You haven't yet finished paying off the loan, so even if your provider does agree an early upgrade the outstanding contractual payments get rolled over and incorporated into the total cost of the new loan. Often the outstanding contractual period also gets added new one, so a new 24 month contract can become a 30 month contract if the old deal had 6 months left to run. When you go for a very early upgrade the phone company also knows it has you by the balls so it won't offer you any discounts or promotions because it doesn't need to.

Contracts run on very small profit margins, but they usually arrange the deal so that you've paid the purchase price of the phone up to 3 months before the contract ends. That allows them time to persuade you to take a new deal with them; it's cheaper to keep old customers than to recruit new ones
