Is it possible to use other sims on an iphone 5s locked to verizon wireless?

Yes, the Verizon iPhone 5s is sold unlocked, but assuming you are planning to try to get one of those to use in India, to make a long story short, don't bother since there are other costs not being mentioned that could be hundreds more.

So if I purchase a used iPhone 6 on eBay or Amazon and take it to Verizon would they transfer all contacts and photos and activate the phone for 30 dollars (the activation fee) with out breaking my contract
