Is it worth it to get an iPhone 5c?

I currently have a blackberry torch (had it for 3 years). I hate this phone and really want an iPhone. I've been reading about the iPhone 5c and what I found is that the phone is essentially an iPhone 5 but with a different color. People also been calling it cheap since it's made of plastic. I'm stuck on whether I should get an iPhone 5s or the 5c. I don't have a lot to spend since it's my moms money. Btw I'm 16.

The 5c is for the "colorful" people.
black is my favorite color…

but the point is if you need the features the 5c has a great processor and comes with the ios7
it's up to you if you want to or not

the 5s white has a odd finger printing home button but the black you can't really tell but I heard you can also get into the home screen without having to put in the pin or the finger print oddly.

In my opinion the new 5C is ugly, I hate the plastic feel. I actually think they were trying to target a younger audience, not necessarily one that wants a cheap phone, because the 5C is NOT cheap. Honestly if you don't have that much money I would recommend just getting the iPhone 4, right now they're on sale for just $200 at Virgin Mobile, that's a pretty good deal for an iPhone. Then when you start working and paying for your own phone you can get whatever you want. Cheers.

Now the depending on how much capacity and money you want to spend is a big question. Also, if you aren't really bothered by tech stuff and such and just want the standard features of the iPhone along with the iOS 7 update, I would go with 5c since you said money is a problem. The plastic is not considered cheap it's just not as metallic looking as the 5s. You can just slap a cover good cover, which you could say to your mom to buy since you got the cheaper one and then woolah! Just get a solid and good looking cover for it the appearance shouldn't matter. Software and tech wise, it's has mostly everything that the 5s has so you should be good. Regardless, the 5c was built for people looking for a more reasonable price on the iPhone, it's not a cheap version in any way, shape or form. It's a compromise between the standard iPhone and a plastic casing. So get the 5c because of your predicament.

All high end smartphones are wastes, just get midrange smartphone cause within a few months the iPhone 5s will be replaced by another iPhone and then your happiness will be gone.

Yes, the 5c is essentially just a 5 in disguise, but that's not bad, because the 5/5c is a really good phone. If you don't mind the colors and the plastic case, you can get it at a good price and it's a fine phone to have. It looks cheap, but in fact it's quite well built, just like the 5 was.

The 5s is faster and has a few more features, and a fancier case. If you want one and it's in your budget, go for it. But you won't be unhappy with a 5c, it's still miles ahead of a Blackberry.
