Is there a difference between restart and reboot?

My phone needs a system update and it says it needs to reboot, does this mean its going to wipe out my apps and sd card and contacts? That's what my friend said happened to her iPhone. I have a galaxy S3, help please!

A system update for a phone leaves all your apps, pictures, videos, etc.alone. If it was a system restore, then it'd erase everything, but an update leaves it all alone.

And yes, a reboot and restart are the same thing.

Reboot or restart are basically the same. If you have saved your apps. They will still be there after a restart. I cold boot my computer most every morning. Sometimes it could be a week before I turn the computer on again. All apps. And contacts remain (because you did not ask the computer to get rid of them, so the computer listens) Mind you I use Firefox and I. E. And G. C browsers so all my contact addresses are not in my computer(but online) So I can access from any computer anywhere.
Always assume friend did something wrong or different.

It is not your machine. When in doubt ask at a computer store. I may be wrong too.

  • Will there be a huge difference between the Iphone 4s and Iphone 5? I'm just wondering what you guys think… Because i don't think there will be a massive one. I currently have an iphone 4s and think well what else can they really do apart from make the screen wider and overall a thinner model. It's already quick enough and the camera is awesome. Also the same ios is going to be available for the iphone 4s and 5 so they'll just the same almost! I know they may have some new feature or two but really have they reached the max yet?
  • Why is there a huge price difference between 8gb iPhone and 16 and 32? About 6 months ago(so maybe my information is dated) I got a IPhone 4 8 gb with the one dollar upgrade with ATT. I was wondering why I could get 8gb for a dollar and if I remember right the 16 and 32 were several hundred dollars. Why is this when you can get a micro SD 32 Gb card for 20$?

  • Is there really that big of a difference between the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5? It doesn't seem like it is. Is it really worth paying more for the iPhone 5 rather than the iPhone 4S? What's the differences between them? I mean, is it even worth upgrading from iPhone 4S to iPhone 5?
