Laptop stolen but tracked down?
Okay I left my laptop on the airplane and forgot about it built he next day. I went back to the airlines to ask if anyone had returned it. No luck. I used the find my iphone app to locate the macbook and left a number on the screen. Someone then texts me and says that they have it and will ship it because we're in different state. It's been a couple weeks now and still nothing in the mail. No answers or texts from them anymore. I was wondering what any of you would do in this situation? Should I involve the cops since I have the number?
Definitely involve the cops, it is your laptop and if you need it call them and tell them that its been weeks and this person is ignoring you! Do what you need too, get that laptop back, be a strong person! Never talk to him again. Also when you get the laptop back, do a malware/virus scan to see if he downloaded viruses.
Keep texting the laptop because if they sold it then whoever has it now will see it. The cops can't do anything because you don't know where it is, right?

- Tracked stolen iphone, can the police help retrieve it? On Monday night my phone went missing at a nightclub, I'm unsure whether it was lost or stolen however a couple of other things went missing from my bag. I know now that the phone has been taken, using iCoud and "find my iphone" I tracked my phone to a house on a road near to the club, so someone has obviously found/taken my phone home with them. Are the police able to do anything about this as i know the location of my phone?
- Stolen iPhone 5. Can it be tracked? My iPhone 5 is off and might be on airplane mode when turned on. I can't use Find My iPhone because it is off but is it also because it might be on airplane mode? Also, it says on my itunes that the last iCloud back up was at 12:47 am. Which is 10 hours after my phone was stolen. What does that mean? Could iCloud still back up when turned off?

I mean after they have basically factory reset it. I heard they have a GPS tracker that allows the carrier to track it… Is that true? Can someone start using the phone themselves… With no problem. - My iphone was stolen. Find my iphone tracked it 15 miles from my house. Should I call police? It happened two weekends ago and I don't think the person ever turned it on until today but I got an email saying it was turned on, lost mode was activated so it locked itself, and it has tracked it to a city about 15 miles away from my house at an apartment complex. I don't think it would be necessary to go there and start knocking on doors. Should I contact police? Its an iphone 4.
