Lifeproof iPhone case, does it really work?

The lifeproof iPhone case claims to shock proof, water proof, sand proof, and snow proof. I'm interested in this case for the protection and for the water proof factor. So what I'm curious for opinions because I don't want to pay 80 $ for a phone case that won't work

It will work, but for a short period depending on how much use and wear and tear. Basically it will be the best protection but you may have a hard time talking to someone on the phone with cause the mic is covered over and maybe trouble hearing them talk too. Another thing is hairline cracks that may appear during the short period of using it like charging up the phone at the dock port will eventually develop a crack sometime soon from protection.

Don't look at the life proof website, they only put up the most positive of reviews and don't address much about the problems a lot of customers have been getting.

Yes, it really works!

There's a good review here, on how a user talked on the phone in the rain, with the lifeproof iPhone case:

Thus, it works pretty well.
