Lost my iphone want to erase info on it?

I lost my iphone 5 this weekend I went on to icloud and seen there's an option to erase data on my phone. My iphone didn't have a password on it so I really want to delete the info on my phone. My question is if I delete the info on my phone will it erase my texts so whoever has the phone can't read them? Please thanks i'm very worried my texts had.peronal info on.it

Yes if you erase the data on the phone it will reset the phone to factory reset mode and it will delete all of your personal use like texts and contacts ext.

Yes, if you choose this option, all your personal info will be erased from the phone. You can also enable the Lost Mode to set a lock for the phone etc. Learn more here: http://www.wikihow.com/Find-a-Lost-iPhone
You can also try to contact your service provider and phone provider and see if they can help. To prevent your new idevice from being stolen or lost in the future, I suggest you apply some free anti-theft apps like iLostFinder except set up Find My iPhone/iPad/iPod in iCloud on the device. It will take pics of the thief or finder when she/he tries to open your device with a wrong pass and then send the pics to your email etc. Hope it helps.

  • Which is more accurate regarding the details of an iphone, iphoneimei.info or imei.info? When I look up the IMEI of my broken iphone 5s on iphoneimei.info it says it's 16gb and when I look it up on imei.info it says it's 32gb… Which site is more accurate? The iphone is stuck in recovery mode and will not power on unless connected and it won't tell me the storage capacity in itunes.

  • Lost iPhone, should I erase it? My iPhone was stolen & I used find my iPhone to see that it has been tracked to a pretty seedy apartment complex. The thief turned the phone off (or it died) & now I'm not even sure that it's still there. So I'm using my old 3 right now but after I backed it up I found that none of my photos were there. About 3 months of pictures. So should I wipe the phone? Is there a way to get the photos from iCloud? If I wipe the phone would it delete the photos from iCloud?
