Maintaining unlimited data on vzw iphone 5?
I'm upgrading to a new iphone. Currently I have unlimited data and would like it to remain that way. Currently my line isn't up for upgrade but another person on my family plan is. Is it possible to upgrade through their line for iphone 5 at discounted price and have that number under the iphone 5 initially, then reactivate that lines old iphone 4s, then take the iphone 5 and activate it under my number while keeping my unlimited data.
My data consumption isn't that drastic but vzw has really upset me by basically forcing me get rid of unlimited and go to capped data and I'm just trying to find a loophole and stick it to them!
Added (1). I'm not trying to transfer the upgrade to my line, that would not work. I'm looking to upgrade the other line as if I was going to maintain that. I feel it is similar to as if the other line sold the phone on ebay then I bought it on ebay at "full price", except i'm obviously just selling it to myself without ebay but same concept. I know it will extend the other line 2 years, but my family has been using each others upgrades everytime someone has gotten a new phone.
No, there's no way to do it. They'll notice the switch in phones and change your plan accordingly.
I just called AT&T about this and they said absolutely your can keep your unlimited but the line your going to use to upgrade will be on a new 2 year contract.
Verizon has made it VERY clear that unlimited data is gonzo.
If you upgrade to any new device, you have pick one of their new plans.
- Would changing your iphone APN get you unlimited data? So i have a att 300mb data plan and i hate it. I want unlimited though i heard if you goto unlockit website it changes your APN so you can go on the internet for free. Will changing apn make my data unlimited. My iphone is jailbroken btw.
- Will 4G be part of unlimited data on Iphone 5 with AT&T? I have a dinosaur plan with AT&T and currently receive unlimited data with my iphone. I know that my unlimited data plan will carryover with the new iphone but my question is will the 4G LTE capability of the new iphone work on my current plan? Or will that be an additional charge for the 4G?
- What can I do to keep my unlimited data plan on Verizon and upgrade to the iPhone 5? Now I already know that I can buy one full price from Verizon for about $649 but I don't want to go that route, and I don't want to buy a subsidized iPhone 5 and end up losing my unlimited data plan. Would I be able to just wait and buy a used iPhone 5 after it comes out and then have them activate the phone on my account? They wouldn't be able to take away my unlimited data would they?
- Verizon Unlimited Data Plan- Iphone 4S? I've seen a lot of answers about paying full price for IPhone 5 to keep your unlimited data plan. I have a 4 and I'm eligible for an upgrade now. Does anyone know if I choose to get the 4S (instead of the 5) if I can keep the plan? And would it be full price or upgrade price?
