My Iphone 5 says connect to itunes?

Ok so today I was trying to update my phone as I saw that there was a minor update available. I just thought it would take a few minutes, and it was almost done but it was taking forever, so I turned my phone off and on, holding the home and power button, and tried to turn it back on. Then it said "connect to ITunes?" OK, well I can't connect to ITunes because my charger is not able to plug into the computer. Is there any way to fix this problem without plugging my phone into the computer? I tried holding home and power again and just power and plugging it in to charge, etc. Nothing works. So any thoughts?

Due to the interruption it may have failed and need the iTunes connection or some updates require it to be connected. Pick a usb wire from pound shop. Sorted

You MUST connect to itunes. Ask a friend or someone (almost everyone has at least one computer) to borrow their pc to connect. I assume you backup with icloud so once you connect to a PC while itunes is running you will want to hold the power and home button until itunes recognizes your phone. It will ask to restore it and all you have to say is yes. Don't back up (it will go on their computer) and you can restore the backup later after it is finished.
