My iPhone does not ring when a message comes in?
Make sure you have the ringer turned on, and a sound selected in the "settings" menu. Then turn your phone off, using the button on top, and swipe the bar that pops up asking if you want to turn the phone off. Wait a minute or two after the phone has completely turned off, and the little circle thing has quit showing up on the screen. Then turn the phone back on by pressing the button on top and holding it until you see the Apple logo appear. Let the phone completely load before checking anything. Then have someone send you a text to see if that solved it. I had the same thing happen to my iPhone. The reboot solved it.
Look at the side of the iPhone where there should be a switch. If there's an orange tab showing then there will be no ring, alarm, etc. If this doesn't work then you need to go to "Settings", scroll down to "Notification Center" and continue scrolling until you see "Messages". You will reach a screen that will show three diagrams under "Alert Style". Choose the one you prefer, then scroll down to "Alert Sound" and choose the sound you want. Make sure that you set it so it "Shows in Notification Center", etc. If this doesn't work.
