My iphone keeps saying not enough storage?

I keep trying to install a 1.4 gb app but it keeps saying "not enough storage", even though settings says I have 2.4 gb of storage left

It won't let you use up all of your storage because it knows there's Software Updates, App updates and some of that storage is occupied by the OS.

I would just delete some music, videos or apps that you don't use anymore.

Your iPhone does not have enough local storage. When the App Store helps you to download an app, it requires additional space for its download package, then it will extract the app, before wiping the download package. Therefore in essence you would require twice the free storage (~2.8gb in this case) as the app size in order to download the app.

Consider deleting some apps that you have not been using, or deleting some older photos. You might also want to download the app via iTunes on your Mac or PC, then syncing it over to your iPhone.

  • Why does my iphone keeps saying no available storage? I have the iPhone5 and when I open up my camera it says "Can't take photo there's not enough available storage" and it gives me the option to go to storage and when I do it says I have 3.2 mb available in storage and on my iCloud it says i have 9.4 GB free and 15GB total available. Why won't it let me take more photos? I bought the $20 iCloud storage thing a while back. And I don't even have that many photos, I only have like 400
  • Why does my iPhone 4S keep saying there's not enough storage? My 16gb iPhone 4S keeps popping up with a little box saying there's not enough storage every time I try to take a picture. I'm travelling atm so not being able to take pictures is pretty annoying. I have previously deleted loads and loads of things to make room for all my travelling pictures and I just don't understand. I've tried resetting it, is there anything else?

  • What to do about my iphone storage saying I'm using up way more photo storage than I actually am? My storage says I have 132 photos that's using up most of my storage; almost 3 GB. I have only 52 photos and 15 videos in my phone. It seems like it may be using storage from pictures I deleted, but apparently they're still using space? ? Has this happened to anyone else. I've taken my phone to an apple store, and I didn't get any answers.
