My iPhone won't go on silent?

I just got an iPhone 5 and when I turn the volume all the way down there's still sound it makes. I went to the sound settings but couldn't figure it out. There's no setting for just silent or just vibrate?

I suggest you ask this in a different section.

On the side of the iPhone with the volume buttons, there should be a button above that. Push it to the side and a bell will appear on your screen with a line through it. This means it is on silent. If the bell is there with the bar below showing how high or low the volume is, it means that the iPhone isn't on silent. To put it on vibrate when it's on silent, go to settings, sounds and the first two options should be 'vibrate on ring' and 'vibrate on silent'. They should both be off, so just slide the 'vibrate on silent' and it will turn it on. Hope this helped you.
