My iphone4 was dipped in water for 3 secs

My son dipped my iphone in water for like 3 seconds, so I did the rice trick. I let it stay in there overnight, blew dry it with cool air. It worked for a little bit but it was so slow so I decided to update it and maybe restore it. But during the "backing up" step, my phone was vibrating non-stop so I did a hard reset, it stopped but then the nxt thing happened. My phone's screen all of a sudden turned blue and now stuck on a black screen with a little light like it froze. =( is this the end of my iphone? Could this still be repaired or am i better off just getting a new phone? Coz i mean, if i end up having this repaired and end up paying 150-200 bucks, i might just get an upgrade for 200 bucks which is more logical.

How long have you have it if you had it less tha a year you can bring it to a apple store and they will fix it for free but only if you had it less than a year but if you haven't sorry I really don't know sorry

No.Warranties do not cover water damage! Have it repaired, or replace it. Many times, water can cause permanent damage to components if the phone is on. The rice trick is not very effective at all!

  • My iPhone has water in it how can I get the water out? I got a little bit of water in it at my pool and it shutoff within a minute or so, it won't turn back on and I have had it in rice for over 10 hours.
  • Iphone water indicators not pink, still possible water damage? Hypothetically, if you got your iphone 4s wet, but the water indicators are not triggered at all, is it still possible the phone has water damage on the inside that apple would find if they took it apart?
  • Iphone submerged in water, logic board has water damage? My phone was under water for 10 sec. Atleast and in my wet pocket for about 2 minutes. Led wouldnt turn off and power / lock button didn't work… Put it in rice and two days later i charge it apple logo pops up then writing pops up above the apple logo. Will the guy taking my phone to clean it out and try to fix it need my passcode? And will my contacts, apps, photos, music, internet history still be on my phone? Like when he fixes it turns and on and stuff?
  • I dropped my Iphone in water - no water damage showing on indicator? Here is the situation. I dropped my Iphone 5 in the toilet (I hadn't peed yet so all good there). Immediately switched it off, dried it and put it in a bag of rice. This was at about 6 p.m yesterday. This morning without turning it on I opened up the sim compartment to check the circle for water damage (checked online and apparently this is where to check for water damage). The indicator was white. It is back in the rice but I was wondering - when you think it will be ok to turn back on?
