My Kindle Fire HD won't connect to my internet when my other devices do
Myself and my sister got a Kindle Fire HD yesterday and tried to connect to the internet. The tablet picks the signal up and then shows the messages "authentication failed" whilst my other devices such as my ipod and iphone connects fine. My router is a siemens and we're supplied by talk talk if that helps? Any advice is appreciated greatly
Got a Fire HD for Christmas as well. Wireless worked for the first couple hours now it won't work no matter what I do even if its the only wireless device running. I get the same error message and it's definitely not the password. I don't know what to do either.
An "authentication failed" message is usually caused by the wrong password (case sensitive), trying to connect to the wrong network (check SSID), or the wrong security settings.
Don't use WEP or Wired Equivalent Privacy http://en.wikipedia.org/...nt_Privacy is very old dating back to 1999 and has serious security flaws. WEP can be cracked in under a minute with modern hardware and provides very minimal security.
If you want good wireless security http://en.wikipedia.org/...s_security I would recommend setting your security to WPA or WPA2.
The security settings have to be the same on the router and the wireless device or you won't be able to connect.
FYI: I have a Kindle Fire 8.9 Wi-Fi and have had no problems with the Wi-Fi connections to my home router, My Verizon wireless hotspot or public Wi-Fi locations. I have had zero problems with the wireless connections in the 45 days or so that I have used it. This doesn't mean that you may not have a hardware problem with your Kindle, however in my experience wireless connection problems are usually related to your router or configuration of the wireless security settings. You might want to try connecting at a public Wi-Fi hotspot such as Starbucks to verify your wireless is working.
I have kindle fire hd 7 inch. My family's cellphones are connected to the Wi-Fi just fine but my kindle say authentication problem. We have rebooted the kindle and reentered Wi-Fi name and problem four times can you help please

- My Wi-Fi won't connect on my laptop but will connect to my other devices (an iPhone and iPad)? I have a MacBook Air. Sometimes it does connect but other times it just won't. It takes ages connecting and then in the end comes up with the exclamation mark or is just blank. Is this a problem with my laptop? I've tried researching the problem but have found nothing.
