My laptop froze and has a mark, what do I do?

Also a long time ago a violent Mark appeared on the right side of my screen P also long time ago a violent Mark appeared on the right side of my computer screen! Both say I should get a new laptop but I don't know that's the first thing I should go with because I don't want to buy a new laptop! FYI I used my iPhone microphone so it may be a little sketchy!
