New computer, internet connection issues?
I've just put together a new computer and it was working perfectly for the first couple of days.
I was using a wireless connection via a USB dongle and after the first couple of days it started cutting out more and more regularly whilst 2 iPhones and 2 iPads were unaffected, I replaced the dongle with a new n900 wireless card and the same thing is happening.
Upon further testing my iMac (which I had planned on selling due to building my computer) also stays connected wirelessly.
What is weird however is that when I use my own iPad (which is on a 3/4g contract) as a hotspot, my connection is perfect, never lags, and never cuts out.
I don't want a workaround where I use my iPad as I'm paying for broadband for a reason and want a better service.
What could be the reason behind me cutting out? Is the router clashing with my PC or what?
You should consult a technicians to your home, if your 2 ipad and iphones doesn't have a problem in your wireless router, and you buy wireless adapter, that is your computer problem ok you should test your computer via lan cable connected, if that is fine, you are facing some driver issues or malware, just download jrt
1)Change the broadcast channel on the router to channel 11 or 2 steps higher or lower than the current. You can download netstumbler or inssider (google them) and they will display the broadcast channels of any neighbouring Wi-Fi networks
2)Turn off any baby alarms cordless phones wireless doorbells as these use the same 2.4Ghz frequency
3)Update the firmware of the router and drivers for your PC/laptop

- Why does my new computer have a much worse internet connection than old? I just bought a 19.5 HP All in one PC, and the internet connection is very slow. On my old laptop, and iPhone the internet works flawlessly. I have tried scanning for viruses, restarting router, and restarting the computer. Nothing is working. Any ideas?
- Why does my computer constantly lose internet connection? I have had an hp envy for about a year and ever since the first day it would connect to my router and in 30 seconds it will say i have no network connection or no internet connection. I thought it was the new router i got but i replaced it and this still happened, all of my other Wi-Fi devices (iphone, ipad, xbox 360, wii) connect fine and never have this problem. Why does my laptop do this and how can i fix it?
- Why can't i get internet connection anywhere else but on my computer? So i have a netgear wirless router and a arris modem for my computer. All of a sudden, the connection on my phone from netgear was not working so i went on my computer but the connection on it was fine. Right now the connection on my computer is perfect but i just can't get any connection on my xbox, ps3, or iphone 4's. Can anyone please help. This has never happened to me before.
- New Asus laptop that keeps dropping internet connection? So I got a new lab top last week and i have had trouble with the Wi-Fi for some reason. It usually drops connection in one room of the house but it does in others also. I know I have a good signal bc iPad iPhone. What should I do? I have about a week if I want to return.
