No space on my iPhone because Photos?

I use iPhone 5s, iOS 8.0.2, 32 GB

I'm facing this problem which is from settings, I only have 2,190 photos.

When I check Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage, it shows "photos" take 6 GB on my phone.

I need storage & I don't know where the hell these 6 GB came from & I want to get rid of them.

If we assume the size of a single photo from your iPhone is about 3 meg and you have 2,190 photos, simple math:
3 meg x 2,190 photos = 6,670 meg… Or closer to 7 gig. What is reported is accurate.

Photos use space.

2,200 photos use lots of space.

Get the photos copied to a computer. Keep only the photos you need on the iphone. Delete the rest. They are on the computer so you still have them, just not in the iPhone.

Remember, your phone is a PHONE and subject to damage, theft, loss… You want those pictures somewhere else in addition to the phone. You can set up your iCloud account so that when you take a picture with the phone it is automatically sent to iCloud.

We don't know which computer you are using and we don't know what image application you are using to manage the photos…

If an average image is 3 MB, then 2,190 photos is about 7 GB. Sounds about right.

If you need storage, back up the images and delete them.

  • Why does my photos take space on my iPhone? I noticed my photos took 3GB of space so I deleted them all. I go check my space again and it says my Photo Library takes 1.8GB
