Problem with Wi-Fi on iPhone 5?
I have an iPhone 5 and it's really bad with connecting and staying connected to Wi-Fi. I know that the signal reaches upstairs because everyone else is able to use it fine and my laptop, which is usually in the same room as my phone, works just fine.
Whenever I go to a friend's place, the same thing happens. Can someone please help me? It's extremely frustrating.
Buy a new phone
There are at least two ways which have proven to fix the issue. The first method is to use the iPhone's settings as described below:
1. Open the Settings app on the iPhone and ensure Airplane Mode is disabled
Next, navigate to General > Reset and tap "Reset Network Settings"
Note - resetting network settings will remove all saved Wi-Fi passwords from the iPhone
Finally, restart the iPhone. To restart the iPhone press and hold both the Sleep and Home buttons until you see the iPhone screen go black
If this doesn't help and you still have the iPhone Wi-Fi switch greyed out, make sure to upgrade your iOS to the latest available version. Apple also recommends to use iTunes and restore the iPhone.
If your iPhone Wi-Fi radio is operational (e.g. Not greyed out), and you can't connect to a Wi-Fi network, follow the below procedure:
1. Ensure that you are trying to connect to the right Wi-Fi network and that you are entering the correct password
Note - Wi-Fi network passwords are case-sensitive and could contain numbers and special characters
If this does not solve the issue, reset the iPhone network settings by navigating to General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
- Problem with Iphone. How can I turn off without touch the Iphone? Yesterday I updated my Iphone to IOS 7.1.1 and today I was taking a photo with the Iphone blocked. When I finished I just hit the button at the top of the iphone. When I received a message, surprise, my Iphone was bugged and can't unblock. Tryed everything, I have 98% of battery and the touchscreen don't work for basics actions, like unblock or turn off the phone. Anyone know how to turn off the Iphone without the touchscreen?
- Iphone to iphone text problem? My sis and I both have iphone 4s but with different carriers. We have always texted with imessage without problems. Today I texted her and it went as a green bubble but did not say sent as text. I know blue bubble is imessage and green is standard text, but whenever I have sent message that was standard and green I get a message that tells me it was sent as text. How do I know if it was delivered? Could she have blocked me? Or phone broken?
- Iphone and ipad problem! Music transferring problem I have an iphone 4s and an ipad mini. I'm having a music tranferring problem. On my phone i have a bunch of songs and i turned of home sharing with my friend. So i got all of her songs to. i'm ok with that.anyways on my ipad i have all the songs I bought. I want to get all the songs i hve on my phone to my ipad. I don't know how though. I use the same apple id and everything. On my ipad i went to songs not on ipad folder but found nothing?
- Iphone 5 or Iphone 4s? Will I have a problem with updates? I'm getting a new cell phone plan. I've never had an iphone before and the Iphone 4s is $100 and the 5 is $200. I'm not the type of person to drop it a lot. Which one is better? Is it okay to go with the 4s since it's cheaper? Will I have a problem with updating it or anything? I know there's talk about the new iphone 5s or 6 coming out so I'm worried about having an 2 model outdated phone… But I'd love to save the money.
