Professionally installing new car radio?

I had recently just bought a 2006 Pontiac Vibe with the OEM stereo & I want to have an aftermarket radio that has a CD player with Bluetooth, Sirius XM & also an AUX input jack for my iPod/iPhone. That's all i'm looking to have done is a new radio put in. How much would it be to have it professionally installed?
I live in Northeastern PA.

Depends on the quality of the stereo you want. They range in price depending on their functions, size (single din, or double din), and number of preouts on the back. MOST, not all double dins are usually touch screen and are way more expensive. I got a cheap pioneer touch screen that does everythihig you mentioned above. I spend 300 for the radio and installed it myself. Most places charge roughly 150 to install. I know this because I was shopping for a radio for my girls car yesterday and just so happened to notice the labor rates. You can get a single din for roughly 140ish. Depending on how many preouts are on the back. They are also going to charge you for a "dash-kit", harness, and it being a GM product you may need an antenna adaptor.

Go to www, crutchfield.com and enter your details. They offer stereo and installation kits together.

Probably over $100, depends on where you go. I would recommend doing it yourself to save the cash.

Figure price of stereo plus 70 buck's for the install.Best Buy also can help you and if you buy the head unit there they give you a so called deal on the installation by appointment.Seeing it's a newer GM ride you may need a kit installed so all functions of your ride are not affected by installing an aftermarket head unit. Many other functions run threw the same wiring harness as your stereo. Make sure you hire someone who know's car audio.

  • If I buy a new stereo for my car with a USB port can it work in any car? My stereo in my 1998 transport just died. This surprisingly excited me. I just got a new IPhone and I'm constantly installing new music. I'm wondering if I can buy a radio with a USB port and put it in my 98 transport even though my car didn't come with a USB port in the radio. Is this at all possible?
