Should CPS be involved in this scenario?
Should CPS be called in this scenario?
I'm a single Mother and I live with my 5 year old Son in a 4 bedroom house in an upscale neighborhood with my Mother, Brother, a wife and their daughter. I guess it's safe to say that they do not care for me. I do not compare myself to them and I feel I have been nice to them. I know I have been. Over the last month I gladly arranged and gave them 3 separate overnight stays in a luxury suite and I watched their daughter while they enjoyed themselves. In exchange I was able to use their car on 3 separate occasions and put about 300 miles on their Range Rover. Since my brother said it only takes premium, I filled the gas tank each time of course.Today we have a little issue because I too sometimes like to go out alone. And the only time I can really do that is after my Son is asleep because nobody will babysit him overnight. So my brother screamed at me that if I go out at night he will call CPS and have them take my Son from me. I see it differently. I feel I deserve some freedom sometimes too, and if I wanted to make the decision to go out after I put my Son to bed I think it does not make me a bad mother. There are 2 to 3 adults in the house and he would know to wake them up if something is wrong and mommy is not in her bed. My motion webcam would alert my iphone if there was any movement around his bed. Please tell me -am I crazy to think this is okay?
You are if they have made it clear they won't be watching him
you can't go out and leave a child unsupervised whether you think you are entitled to a night out or not
being a mother is a 24/7 job if you have no one to look after him, i'm afraid
if they are so mean as to not look after him
they may go out and leave him alone and then phone CPS
he would be taken into care
don't risk that for the sake of a night out
Your brother is rightfully upset, although seemingly selfish.
You need to arrange adult supervision for your child even when asleep. Children have nightmares, wake up, get hungry in the middle of the night, etc. Point is, your brother is not responsible unless arranged for prior.
You're expecting favors in return for what you've done. It needs to be made explicit. You must TELL him, or ask rather, if he would watch your son. Arrange this before you leave so that he doesn't feel like you've just left your child on their hands without asking
Did they give you permission to drive their car?
If you live with your mother, why can't you ask her to watch your son?
Call CPS yourself and ask if under the scenario you described they would take your child. Get it from the horse's mouth not the horse's a$$.
Why do you live at home? Why do you need to borrow your brothers car… You sound like a HUGE losers
also, no car needs premimum gas… That's a myth… A myth to make stupud people pay MORE money for gas… So it sounds like your whole family is a bunch of losers
losers that all live at home and mooch
- Would the police get involved for an expensive stolen object by a minor? My mom bought me glasses($400). They are "real" and the lenses are made to fit my eye vision. I'm in middle school and a high school boy who has a reputation for stealing things (ipods, iphones etc) stole my glasses while he was hanging out with me. Will the police be willing to get involved in this? I live in California. I really need them back, they're expensive and I can barely see anything during class… Or life
- What to do, if I want to get the iPhone 6 in this scenario? My phone died. But I qualify for an upgrade at Verizon. Yet I don't want to sign a contract with Verizon because I want to wait for the iPhone 6. I've heard of straight talk, but have read terrible reviews about their costumer service. Any ideas as to what I should do in the meantime? I need a smart phone with a GPS that's for sure.
- Should I buy iPhone 5 or I should wait for iPhone 5S? I'm planning to buy the new iPhone 5.It's necessary that i get a phone as soon as possible, so should I buy this current iPhone 5 or should I wait for the 5S? There would be a vast difference between them?
- Should I buy an iPhone on a plan or should I pay for the full price upfront? What are pros and cons? To be honest I want to pay for it upfront because buying it on a plan feels like I'm just renting it. I want to feel like I actually own the phone. But everyone in my family is on a plan and they say it's cheaper because they get free texts and stuff. I don't know what to do? I know, first world problems but please help me. Plan or upfront?
