Should I buy an Iphone 5s from America and use it outside of America?

An Iphone s where I live costs around $600.In America it costs around $199 plus a $70 year contract so it seems more reasonable to order it online from America. If I order it from America what would I need to do and what should I know before ordering an Iphone from America and using it in another country?
Besides unlocking the phone, what else do I need to do?

It doesn't matter where you get the phone, it only matters where you sign your contract. I doubt it's that much cheaper in the US, but if it is, you shouldn't have to do anything other than buying your contract there.

Other answer is not accurate. It does matter where you buy it. If you buy an iPhone that is made for AT&T's network and you don't have AT&T you won't be able to use it. There are regionally locked and locked to a specific network. We do have unlocked phones you can buy but they are around $650. You can unlock a locked phone but only if the carrier you got it from allows it

Obviously you have to pay the contract if purchasing it for that price. If you aren't in the US Then obviously they aren't selling it to you on contract either.
