Depends on if you need a phone, once iphone 6 comes out, you could make the same question between iphone 6 and 7(or 6s). If you like the iphone 5s take it! (it is a very good smartphone, like many others). As you can see nowadays, there aren't many differences between a smartphone and the next model.

It will be at least 11 months until the successor to the s is released. If you keep putting off your purchase because you want to wait for the newest product, then you will never buy.
If you are in need of a phone, I would buy the iPhone 5S now. Apple launches a new iPhone every September, so you would be waiting a year until you get a new phone. If you aren't in need of a phone then I would just wait.
