Switching from Verizon, to Pageplus, and then getting an iPhone 4s?

I'm so confused with the whole switching carriers thing.

Okay so here is my deal: I have a stupid LG cosmos on a stupid Verizon plan. My contract runs out soon, and I want to get Pageplus. Now, after I switch to Pageplus, how do I get an iPhone 4s on the page plus plan?

I guess I have 3 questions. 1. When should I switch to avoid fees? Do I have to wait until after my contract runs out? 2. How do I keep my number? 3. Then, after I switched to Pageplus, how do I get rid of my LG cosmos and switch to an iPhone 4s?

Added (1). Thank you @emotionalzombie7997! That is exactly what I needed to do. I researched it, and they do allow the iPhone 4s if you get an unlocked phone. I just have on last question, when I'm already on pageplus, how do I switch phones? (Neither phones are their phones)

1. You need to switch on the day that your service ends. If you can't switch on that day, wait until the end of the month, the next month.
So lets say your phone contract expires on 3/30/2013. You will need to switch your service on 3/30/2012. If you wait to switch your service on 3/31/2013 or 4/1/2013, you will be charged for an entire month of service from Verizon even though you won't have a phone number for your phone. If you can't switch on the exact day, wait for another month until it gets closer to your billing date.
2. Tell Page Plus that you want to port your current number from Verizon to Page Plus. This will not cost you anything. Do not tell Verizon you are planning on leaving them.
3. You need to contact Page Plus to see if they allow the IPhone 4 with their service. Page Plus uses Verizon's towers for service. When the Iphone 4 was first introduced to Verizon, Page Plus was not allowed to activate the Iphone 4 with their service.

  • Switching phones on Verizon.iPhone and android? A person who is on my family plan is using their phone upgrade to get an iPhone 5. I currently have a Galaxy Nexus. When the new iPhone is activated on their number, can we then switch phones so I would have the iPhone and my original number, and they have the Nexus? Does the iPhone to android factor affect this switch.
  • Pageplus iPhone lost signal? I activated a Verizon iPhone 4s on Pageplus a month ago and all was working fine. Yesterday iTunes wasn't syncing properly, so I restored it to a backup. Now it shows either "no service" or "searching" in the top corner and won't dial at all, even to *22890. The ESN is clean. Any ideas?
  • IPhone screen shows Apple icon then shuts off, then repeats I was updating my software on the iphone when the power went off, then the screen went black and showed the apple icon, then it shus off again, then it shows the apple icon. I plugged it into the computer but they computer does not recogniz it so I can't restore it. What do I do?
  • I'm switching iPhones and services, and I concerned about the process and loss of service (even temporarily). Any tips on how to handle it? I bought an open iPhone SE to replace an older iPhone, and I'm signing up for a different service. They provide the SIM. And of course I want to port my old number to the new service. But I don't want to cancel my old service before the new one is set up. If I set up the new service before I cancel the old one will I have two functioning phones on the same number for a while? I'm not sure how to handle this and cause the least disruption to my service.
