This accessory may not be supported iPhone 4

I have an iPhone 4 and I have a usb for it which I use to charge it up with on my laptop. Whenever I plug it in it will charge for like 2 seconds and then the message "This accessory may not be supported" appears on my iPhone and stops charging. I have to wiggle the usb wire around a few times before it starts charging again. Do I need a new charger?

I think this is a similiar issue: http://www.gatorspit.com/tips/iphone-wont-charge.html

  • Why does a message on my iPhone keep popping up that that This accessory may not be supported? Why does a message on my iPhone keep popping up that that "This accessory may not be supported"? I'm charging it if that makes a difference but I'm using the charger that came with the phone.
  • This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably with this iPhone? I have a life proof case and I took it under water. I noticed some water inside the case so I took it off and saw that there was water on the outside of the phone. Ever since then a note pops up every 15-30 seconds saying "This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably with this phone". What should I do? Is there a way to fix it? My phone is virtually unusable since this annoying message keeps popping up. Any help would be appreciated.
  • This accessory may not be supported- Charging my iPhone 5? I'm about to ******* slam my phone down, this is Really frustrating i'm not even over exaggerating. Whenever I try to charge my iPhone, I plug in the charger and i have to wiggle it around and then it works, then 2 seconds later it says 'This accessory may not be supported' WTF. I buy my chargers at crackerz bc i don't have enough money to buy one at Telus (I have like no money) And every like, week i have to buy a new one before it breaks. I'm getting pissed
  • This accessory may not be supported? - 1 My iPhone barely charges at certain angles, and it's not the charger because I've tried three different ones as well. I've also tried cleaning out the charging port. I have a 5c. A notification pops up and says "this accessory may not be supported" almost every time I charge my phone. I need my phone for work, alarms, and getting ahold of family. What can I do?
