Turning Wi-Fi connection on, on my (Windows 7) Dell Vostro 1540?
How can I turn my Wi-Fi connection on, on my Windows 7?
well up until this morning, it was fine, I was connected wirelessly to my usual Local Area Connection via my sagem router, as I had been for the last year.
And then suddenly, out of nowhere, my connection becomes unavailable- along with the others that i normally pick up.
So we call Sky, thinking that it was the router, but after some discussion and inspection with her, and after realising i was still connected wirelessly to the same Wi-Fi connection on my iPhone and accessing the internet fine. She told me that I would need to seek PC support, as somehow, my wireless connection has been turned off on my laptop.
Somebody please help me, as i do not like being stuck next to the router because i need the ethernet cable plugged in. I need to be portable.
I would Really appreciate ANY help and support you could give me!
Many many thanks,

Try turning your router off for about 20 secs, turn back on then try again. Or perhaps you've accidentally switched it off, look in your handbook. The symbol if you have it looks like an upturned umbrella, sometimes depending on make has to be pressed with the Fn key.
Since other devices connect OK, it must be the Dell.
1) Some laptops have a little 'switch' on the side or front that turns off WiF = this is very easy to 'knock' into the 'off' position:-)
2) Windows sometimes 'forgets' your 'home' Wi-Fi 'profile' settings (often this is after you have been 'roaming' i.e. Using a Wi-Fi 'hot spot' away from home) == go into Wi-Fi settings and try re-setting the profile (password etc)
- Windows 7 laptop wireless connection problem I restored my computer a day ago because it was bringing the blue screen of death. After the restore, when I logged on and tried to connect to the internet it says no network connection. "The laptop will access the internet with a wired connection only. It now indicates there are no wireless networks to join even though" there's a modem in my house which i can connect to through my iphone.
- Why is my iPhone 5 turning off and not turning back on? This has happened twice now. My iPhone 5 has turned off in the middle of the night with a full charge and off the charger, and when I try to turn it back on it takes a couple tries. Has anybody experienced this?
- Why does Windows 8.1 Update crash my Wi-Fi connection? As soon I upgraded from 8.1 to 8.1 Update, I can only connect to my Wi-Fi connection at home for like 10 seconds, then the connection terminates and I have to restart the modem and it happens all over again. Other devices lose connection when this happens too. When I only login to my network from other devices (one iphone and 1 laptop (at which I'm typing now) the connection does not break.
- My iphone won't charge or connect to my windows 8 dell desktop? When i try to connect my iphone to my computer through the USB cord the charging little box on the top right corner of my iphone 4 keeps blinking and thats it, it won't connect or anything?
