Unlock Iphone 4s from Verizon?

Hi! I have an iphone 4s from verizon and i'm trying to change it to consumer cellular. I have the correct size sim card and everything. I have spent 4 hours trying to figure out how to unlock my iphone and can't find anything other than sites that want me to pay over 100$ to have someone do it for me. How can I, a very un-tech savvy, person do this quickly and for free?!

Impossible to get it for free. It's still illegal in the US so you'll never get that service free here until the law goes into effect in 2015 or 16. That's why they cost $100 plus. Oh, and there's another problem. When you do get a code you'll have to process it quickly because when Big Red's servers get a whiff that you are going to bounce on them and the bill, they will burn and blacklist the phone's IMEI--serial number. If they do that, it'll never be reactivated as a phone in the US ever again by any carrier. Unlocked or not. Bottom line without a code, doesn't matter how un-tech savvy, it can't happen. Best luck.
