Unlock my iphone but don't know the carrier?
I bought an iphone 5 from a friend that works at a hotel that he found. I want to switch to straighttalk and spent $63 on the bring your own device package but the sims aren t valid. I looked into unlocking my iphone but i don't know what carrier the guy who left it had. I know its canadian because i searched the phone number. How should i go about unlocking it?

It's morally dubious to help you steal someone else's phone.
- Will I be able to unlock my iPhone if I don't know the original carrier? Recently my old iPhone broke (water damage) in which my mother gave me her new but un used iPhone 5, I know it's locked to a different network. But I don't know which network, if I went to a shop to get it unlocked, would they be able to if I didn't know the original sim carrier?
- People that buy iphones don't know anything about technology did you know that? Like my friend just brought iphone and I asked him if it has 4g late he said what's that? Then I asked how fast is the processor like 1.2 dual people buy them because its more mainstream and because their friends have iPhones Samsung is way better based on specs and technology the iPhone 4s and 4 processors are very slow
- My iphone 5 is disabled and i don't know the code to unlock it? My dad bought me an iphone 5 from his friend, but his friend doesn't know the code to unlock it, nor does he know the itunes account to restore it. I typed in multiple passwords like an idiot to try an unlock it but now it's disable, and it says to connect it to itunes. Please tell me how to get it unlocked!
