You get any free music downloader app from the appstore but you can't transfer it to the normal music app. You will need a computer to transfer music into the music player or you need a jailbroken device to transfer music directly on the iPhone
Just take any mp3 file and select and add it to your itunes list, then copy to the ipod, iphone, etc. Its that simple, I do it all the time.
