What are the chances of an iPhone 6 plus working after it's been dropped into water?

I recently dropped my iPhone 6 plus into the sink, (by accident of course), and it was submerged for just under 5 seconds before I pulled it out the water.

I quickly switched of the phone and began to dry it, and within the hour, I had put into a bowl of rice to assist with the drying.

As of this post, the phone would have been in the bowl of rice for about 19 hours, and was wondering if anyone could give me an opinion as to whether or not It still has a chance of recovery.

P.S Probabilities are also acceptable as answers.

Maybe 50/50 or a little better, you have done everything correct for your best chances… Good luck.

Its fine

Well, there's 50-50 chance. I would suggest you to keep it in rice for over 48hrs and then do a little bit if blow drying through the grills and SIM tray and then turn it on. Hope, it works.

First off, you acted quickly. Second the phone and the rice need to be in an AIR TIGHT container. Whether you use rice or silica gel (a much better option than rice), you need to put them in with the item to be dried in an air tight container for a MINIMUM of 72 hours. No testing to see if it works, until the 72 hour mark and any moisture is noticed, back into the airtight container for another 48 hours, before checking again for moisture.

If it had been me though, I would have called a few local cell phone repair shops to see if they handle water damaged phones and asked what their process and prices were. If they used a vacuum chamber method to dry out the phone, I would go there to have it done, because it's fast and very thorough (and much more efficient that desiccants) in removing water from inside of electronics, ESPECIALLY those electronics that can't readily be taken apart.
