What are the pros and cons of an iPhone 3gs?

I'm thinking of getting a refurbished iPhone 3gs (16Gb). I've not had an iPhone before. Good/bad idea

It's a bad idea. The software can't be updated and it's not included in ios7. They work very slow and are very chunky. Also it's hard to find a good case for them. Also, the data would be slower because of the phone hardware

Well.anything below iPhone 4 wouldn't be able to handle the iOS7 update. So if you get the 3gs, iOS7 wouldn't respond. The phone would work very slow and it would be really cheap.

If it's your first time getting an iPhone, get iPhone 5 or 5s! If you can't get anything higher than that, just get an iPhone 4s cause 3gs won't support the iOS7 update.

But all in all, it's your choice. & if you like adding apps to your phone and love taking pics, get 16GB because that will be plenty for you.

You shouldn't buy it. It can't be updated, it is slow, and most of all it is just plain outdated. If you want an iPhone, look at the iPhone4s and above. They are great, fast, and can be updated. Cases for these phones are very easy to find. And each one is iOS7 compatible. (Unlike the 3gs)

I think it's okay, but you can't experience something new like ios 7, updated configure etc.

Pros:
iOS 6 (depends on the real person, but in my opinion, that's a good idea to stay with it)

Cons:
Non-Retina screen
A few apps don't support iPhone 3GS
Max storage limited to 32GB (should be enough anyway)

That's all I could find in my opinion. Hope I helped in your decision-making.

If you want some of the newer apps, try to also invest in an iPod touch (4th generation). That's also a recommendation if you ever decided you want it.

  • What are the pros and cons of a sprint and tmobile merge? Will my coverage speeds change? Will my Tmobile iPhone 5c be technically be running off of sprints network? Sprint is just downright terrible. I don't want to be paying a cent for service I can't use. Please tell me this isn't the case. TMobile uses HSPA+ network, and sprint uses CDMA. Those technologies are 2 totally different technologies, therefore probably rendering them incompatible.
  • Should I Buy the iPhone 5 from Apple or Verizon? (Pros and Cons Please.)? My wireless phone service is on a business plan and only the business owner is our Verizon Account Manager, so I do not have rights to access my Verizon account. I have had my Blackberry Storm2 for over 3 years and I'm wondering if it is better for me to wait and see if Verizon will offer the 64GB iPhone 5 at a discounted price for me or if Apple will offer the iPhone 5 at the same exact price as Verizon including the ability to sync with my Verizon business account?
  • Pros And Cons On Using Iphone 4s On Tmobile? Well I'm Goinq To Unlock My Iphone And Connect It With T-Mobile And My Brother Told Me That ICant Receive And Send Pictures And IWant To Know If Thats True. Also What Are Downsides Similar To Those That IHas. Iphone 4s IOS 6
  • Pros and cons on iphones and androids? Which is better in your opinion? Please don't just put a one-word answer, I need legitimate reasons why one is better than the other. OR why it's a draw, and describe their equal advantages and setbacks. My friend asked me why I didn't have an Iphone and I said that iphones aren't unique enough for me; there's no originality since lots of people have them. Correct me if I'm wrong, or support me, which ever supports your opinion as well.
