What do I do with my old SIM card?

I just received an iPhone 5S in the mail, which I ordered at a Verizon store about a week ago using a phone upgrade on my contract. It came with a SIM card inside of it which was odd to me because I assumed I would be taking the SIM card out of my old phone… So now I've got two separate iPhones with two separate SIM cards so my question is: What do I do with the old SIM card? I'm planning on selling it this week and I can't sell it with the card inside it can I?

Lately they've been shipping sim cards with iPhones on the idea that new iPhone users do not have the right sized sim cards for their new phones.

What you need to do is figure out which sim card is the one that's working (I'm sure a simple trial and error would work) and use that and discard the other sim card.
